Yvonne Saldaña is a Mexican-American artist that has always had a fascination with the human body's anatomy and the majestic wolf. She has an affinity with her cultural background, in particular on the imagery of the Aztecs. Her interest in anthropomorphic deities has been shown more frequently in her work. The imagery of her work has developed over time through exposure to Japanese illustrations, animation, and video games. She is exploring other ways to portray her anthropomorphic deities, in particular, the alebrijes.
